After a serious lack of surf on the South shores, the South Southwest Hilo buoy model is showing a string of long-period surf headed towards Hawaii. The first swell arrives this weekend, with @buoy51002 showing 2 feet at 14.4 second SSW energy by mid-day Friday. Look for that swell to slowly decline through Sunday.
The second pulse builds Monday through Tuesday, with 18 second forerunner energy. This swell is a bit more South, with a wave direction of 189°.
Waves should hold through Tuesday before bumping up again on Wednesday, when a 3.3 feet at 17.8 second (185°) reinforcement arrives.
