The Pacific continues to produce Northerly surf for Hawaii, with a fresh North pulse filling this weekend. Latest observations from the Waimea Bay buoy (@buoy51201) show swell energy of 2.6 feet at 10.5 seconds.
Surf continues to build overnight, with 6.6 feet at 12.7 seconds N (1°) swell conditions forecast for Sunday morning. The swell holds Monday, then slowly declines through Tuesday. A bunch of short-period swell dominates the second half of the week.
Looking down the line at Christmas weekend, it appears Santa may deliver some NNE treats for everyone, with a solid 10.8 feet at 14.7 second NNE (16°) swell currently forecast. Don’t get your hopes up yet though, as this little gem might turn into coal if the strong East winds that are also forecast decide to play Grinch. We’ll have to wait and see how things develop through the week.
