2011 Pure Point Panic

To celebrate and perpetuate the Hawaiian art form of he’e umauma and kaha nalu.

Good luck to all the competitors in today’s Pure Point Panic competition. The swell forecast is epic, with solid long-period energy from the South peaking today and slowly fading into tomorrow.

Pure Point Panic is a grassroots affair where all competitors are guaranteed to surf at least twice, with the top 20% of each division moving into Saturday’s final rounds. Exhibition events such as hui (2-person tandem teams), ‘ole (no fins), and a swim race (fins & goggles allowed) also take place on Saturday.

If you’re in the Kaka’ako area today or tomorrow, definitely stop by Point Panic to check these guys out.
